Statement of Faith
What We Believe:
There is only one God, and that He is eternally existent in Three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
God the Father is the Creator of the universe. He created man in His own image for fellowship, and called man back to Himself through Christ after the rebellion and fall of man.
Jesus Christ is eternally God. He was together with the Father and the Holy Spirit from the beginning, and through Him all things were made. He left heaven and became incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary; henceforth, He is forever one Christ with two natures, God and Man, in one Person.
The Holy Spirit is God, the Lord and Giver of life, who was active in the Old Testament, and given to the Church in fullness at Pentecost. He empowers the saints for service and witness, cleanses man from the old nature, and conforms us to the image of Christ.
The Bible containing the Old and New Testaments is alone the only infallible, inspired Word of God, and its authority is ultimate, final, and eternal. It cannot be added to, subtracted from, or superseded in any regard. The Bible is the source of all doctrine, instruction, correction, and reproof. It contains all that is needed for guidance in godliness and practical Christian conduct.
Christ's vicarious death on the cross paid the penalty for the sins of the whole world. Its benefits of healing (body, soul, and spirit) are provided for in the atonement as well.
Salvation is a free gift of God, based on the merits of the death of His Son, and is appropriated by faith. Salvation is effected by personal repentance, belief in the Lord Jesus (justification), and personal acceptance of Him into one's life as Lord and Savior (regeneration).
The Christian life is to be one of consecration, devotion, and holiness. The shortcomings of the individual are due to the still-progressing sanctification of the saints. The Christian life is filled with trials, tests, and warfare against a spiritual enemy. For those abiding in Christ until their deaths or His return, the promises of eternal blessing in the presence of God are assured.
The Church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God among the saints through the Spirit. Every believer born of the Spirit has a place in the church designated by God; a place where Christ is working in the lives of the called-out ones and calling ministers to the Great Commission, to go into all the world and make disciples of every nation.
Doing God's will is Trina's very heartbeat. She's passionate about helping people and solving problems. God solved the ultimate problem of sin by sending His beloved son, Jesus Christ. Jesus conquered sin in the flesh, death and the grave. How did He conquer these things? He conquered through knowledge, understanding, humility, agreement with God the Father, love, endurance, and the power of the Holy Spirit. We too can conquer life's challenges, hardships, pain, sin, test and trials. Some challenges we face can be solved in our own strength, while others may require assistance from others through preaching, teaching, individual counseling or group therapy. Most people find it difficult to ask for or seek help. We must remember that we are not alone in the world. We all need help sometimes.
Trina understands the struggles of mankind. She's overcome many obstacles in her own life. Paul said in Romans, "For what I'm doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do." We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Man is not justified by what he can or can not do in his own strength. Man is justified by faith alone, believing in Him who justifies.
God established the church body and gave gifts to men for the equipping and edifying of His body. This is God's way and we must do things God's way to receive healing, deliverance, and victory in this life. Trina relies on the leading of the Holy Spirit paired with the understanding of humanity through biblical training and psychological study in order to guide her clients through dark, lonely and painful experiences.
As a minister, Trina has been serving her community for 15 years. She has passionately served as a youth pastor , as well as in women's ministry. She has also tirelessly served in the sick and shut-in, homeless, and prison ministries, but close to her heart are the intercessory prayer and family and marriage counseling. God has all too often continued to use Trina to minister to the needs of others by bringing hope, vision, healing, and deliverance. She currently holds a Masters of Arts in Human Services Counseling, Bachelors of Arts in Theology and Associates in Biblical Studies. Trina is also a Board Certified Pastoral Counselor with the Board of Christian Professional & Pastoral Counselors, as well as a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Trina's biblical training allows clients to bring faith and prayer into the therapeutic relationship as they grow both naturally and spiritually. Trina's colleagues testify of her unwavering faith, love and compassion for others and accurate insight into her client's lives. She believes that God uses the difficulties of life to produce character, perseverance, hope and a deeper faith that moves mountains.
Trina and her husband, Mark, have been married for 15 years and have been blessed with three children.

As an ordained minister, Mark assists in empowering couples and individuals to overcome personal obstacles to improve their relationships from the inside out. Honestly, he has experienced and overcome many of the same obstacles that clients face, but ultimately, these challenges have produced a joyful relationship with his wife and children which has been a great comfort to him, and to others who benefit from their marriage.
Using time tested biblical principles and strategies that have proven trustworthy; Mark has worked with many couples and individuals with his wife Trina since 2013. He has received lots of excellent feedback, and his clients are satisfied with the counseling that they receive. The result is that his clients are getting healthy and confident in their ability to have forged positive relationships with their spouses, children, and colleagues. Mark also helps pre-martial couples come together to work out their love for each other, and move forward together in faith, hope, and love.
Mark has served as a Sunday school director, bible teacher, men's ministry leader, deacon, elder, and youth pastor. He continues to serve and lead as a husband and father to three young children. Mark is uniquely equipped to lead because he has served. He loves connecting with people, especially men and our youth, whom he has served as a youth pastor for a local church in Southern Maryland. He has spent many years building relationships with people from all walks of life, from the youngest to the oldest, helping them be at peace with God, themselves, and others.
